SSP but need help with rent

Hi, Ive just started getting statutory sick pay at 80 pound a week. Will I be able to get help with my rent? its 350 pound a month, im 29, single and live alone, no kids.

You need to look on your Councils website and find out your LHA rate, this will be the maximun they would pay to someone in your position and take it from there.0

Identify the maximum rate you could get on the LHA direct site and then put the info in the Turn2us online benefit calculator and it will take into account your income and identify if you are due any other benefits.
Please note that at some point next year, the threshold changes for the shared accommodation rate, rising from 25 to 35, which means a claimant will not be eligible for a 1 bedroom self-contained property rate of LHA, and will only get a rate equivalent to a cheap room in a shared property.
