Class 1 business Use

I work as a self employed cleaner. I dont carry any equipment in my car.

I was just wondering if anyone can tell me why I have to have class 1 business use on my car insurance?

It is probably because you don't travel to just ONE place of business. My son will have to take business use class 1 out on his insurance this year as he might have to travel to different offices within the area instead of just one permanent place.

It's related to how the car is used rather than what is inside it.

Social, domestic and pleasure and commuting use involves a commute to and from one single place of work.

Business use involves travel to and between various locations during the working day and thus presents a quite different risk.
