a cardboardbox if you've got one - they're not heavy & will protect it from damage better.
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!
  • I'd suggest you should weigh before packing if you have the faciilities. If it's over 2kg unpacked then the packing is unlikely to affect the postage price, since the Standard Parcels price is £7.70 for 2-4kg, and the packing wouldn't take it over 4kg.
If it's under 2kg then you might want to try to keep the packed weight under 2kg, since the Standard Parcels price for 1.5-2kg is only £5.31.
Leather isn't particularly fragile, and just needs protected from damp and surface scuffs, so you'd probably be OK with about 3 big carrier bags inside each other, securely taped up. If it has studs or other decorations that you think might be vulerable, it might be best to use a box or add a layer of bubble wrap (use bubble wrap can often be scrounged form shops for free).

I ditto CMP. I've sold motorbike jackets, and sturdy plastic and tape has always been fine. I generally put some brown paper round the finished article, just cos I think brown paper parcels are aesthetically pleasing, and I love ripping paper off. It doens't make much difference to the postage, and the adress/return labels are very clear to see.

The only time I didn't use paper, just plastic, I had my item sent to me instead! They took it back with no problems, but the buyer wanted the boots for a show she was doing at teh weekend, and we were both sweating on delivery then.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

I sold a Varsity jacket once on eBay with leather sleeves,I was sending it by Parcel Force after giving some thought about the best way to wrap it up I settled on using some lining paper, the stuff you use on walls, it is nice and thick, I taped some pieces together then folded the arms of the jacket inward laid it on the paper and then covered it and taped it up neatly so that the jacket was wrapped flat, I then cut open a thick black bin bag and taped that around the parcel, I stuck an A4 sheet of paper on the front stating that it should be stored flat.

I was really nervous about how the buyer might view this, I didn't want to fold the jacket up in case I creased it, when the buyer received it they left me glowing feedback and commended me on packing the jacket with so much care. :-)
