Can anyone advice me on this please, i have no idea what the !!!! up was. The lady on the phone didn't seem sure, is this normal?

It sounds like the dreaded AVU have struck again. I don't think you'll receive your card. Basically, your application was originally accepted, but has been declined upon further checking by the Natwest/RBS Application Verification Unit (AVU). If you do a forum search, you will see many posts similar to yours I'm afraid.

if you get your card then the acc will likely to be fully open

the 'AVU' seem to like making decisions last minute just like that
good to leave Santander and set up repayment plan as they are dreadful :P

[edit] Just read a few of these threads & i definitely don't want to go with Natwest now, even barcaly's seem to be doing the same.
