hang on. I thought gold was a no risk investment?£3000 for a 100 gram gold bar from Capital Mint in March 09
That was one hell of a markup by the seller.
In March 09, gold was selling at about $940-$950 per ounce (which converts to approx £21/£22 per gram.
The price of the gold in a 100g bar would therefore have been about £2200, which means the dealer made £800 or about 36%0 -

If your only buying a couple of Ks worth just buy a few coins and hide them somewhere safe, why pay storage fees? golds highly liquid(easy to sell) and there's no chance of it going bankrupt. When you own a few gold coins thats real wealth in the palm of your hand recognised as so everywhere.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Hmmm choices ... To buy a one ounce coin/bar or another kilo bar of silver!! Just seems so expensive for gold for what you can get for silver.......0

Your supposed to get in on the ground floor, not 4/5ths of the way up..!
Truth is,by the time Joe public learns of the good thing, the smart money has already bought into it and the rest of us are just suckered in to boost their profits..erm..and then they sell and so it goes on and on..round and round...Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Even if gold is "4/5ths" from the top, and a lot of people wouldn't agree with this estimate, that means it still has a climb of 1/5 (or 20%) to make.
This still won't be a bad return for someone who buys now and sells when the price is at or near the top.0 -
Anybody have any info on the English Rose Gold 1/2oz coins? I take it its just a simple gold coin and the worth of it is just the weight of the coin itself?3 defaults removed,, 1 judgment set aside

As with all gold coins, there is a mark up on the price of the gold, but this coin doesn't seem too bad compared to some others. It's slightly cheaper than a 1/2oz Krugerrand, which used to be one of the coins with the lowest premium.0 -
Thanks for that link Shaun its slightly cheaper from that supplier than the one I was looking at too.3 defaults removed,, 1 judgment set aside
