Hi all, hope its ok me posting this again but on the Welsh board this time.
I've booked a night at the Big Sleep Hotel in Cardiff mainly because I'm attending a late night concert & don't want to be walking on the streets at night. I just wondered if anyone knows anything more about what to do in terms of food? We were wondering if there was anyway of getting food after 11pm without walking around town & what places are best? Also, do you know if they charge to bring breakfast to your bedroom at the Big Sleep Hotel (Because of our early start I thought it would be a better option) & do they charge you if you want to use the Wi-Fi? Thanks for any help

Caroline street (aka Chippy Lane) is 5 minutes away from the Big Sleep. There's chip shops, kebab shops, fried chicken etc open til late. Also, Cardiff city centre is very safe, I wouldn't be worried wandering around at that time of night.0

another vote of confidence for how safe Cardiff is, you shouldn't have any problems at all.
I'd hazard a guess that your concert is in the CIA. St David's 2 shopping arcade has a food court which opens late if you want a sit down meal. That is a short stroll from CIA (and St David's Hall, other main music venue in the city centre). Chippy lane as previously mentioned is also a short stroll away (caroline street on the maps, chippy lane is what we affectionately call it locally). I know that the burger king and Mcdonalds on queen st both open late as well, so you won't starve, nor will you have to venture far for food. Virtually every gig I have been to in the CIA kicks out by 22.30 - 22.45 at the very latest. There is almost always a greasy burger van outside the venue if you are truly desperate and don't want to walk far for food!
As for the hotel related questions, you'd be best off contacting the hotel directly (not many cardiffians would have had reason to stay in a hotel in their home city).

I stayed in the big sleep last year, thumbs up from me, but best contact them about breakfast to your room, I was on a hen party, and half of the laugh was seeing ill faces the next morning over black coffee!
We went to chippy alley on the way back to the hotel last thing.0 -

I stayed there the other night. There is a charge for wifi. I didn't use it so I can't remember how much it is, I think it was available in the public areas.Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0

So sorry I never came on to say thank you for all the help. Had a great time and the hotel is fine for one night stays but nothing more. We ended up getting take-aways but I wish I had actually just walked somewhere to get something! Thanks again!Grocery Challenge: January: /£2140
