I took out a magazine subscription, online, on the 15th February.
Am I right in thinking I have seven days to cancel it without giving a reason?

yes, i cannot see any reason why not
under the Distance selling regulations 20000 -
Your best bet is to refer to the Terms & Conditions of the subscription from the place that you took it out0

If you are going to quote something, best to make sure you are correct. Reading http://www.weblaw.co.uk/articles/consumer-protection-distance-selling/ I suspect you are not correct - see the exemptions in it.0 -
As mentioned above by Vuvuzela, DSRs do not apply to magazines.
On page 22 the OFT Guide says...Can consumers cancel an order in any circumstances?
3.38 Unless you have agreed that they can, your consumers cannot cancel if the order is for:
...
newspapers, periodicals or magazines,

I did look at the raw legislation
What the OFT guide says is that you cannot cancel a MAGAZINE. It doesnt say you cannot cancel a SUBSCRIPTION.
If the consumer hasn't had any magazines yet then I dont see why it cannot be cancelled. I had a look at the exemptions under the DSR - it was a glance but that was the conclusion I came to.
If you can show otherwise, please do.0 -

Well, I would say that the wording from the act itself is very clear as it refers to a supply of magazines, which could refer to a subscriptionExceptions to the right to cancel
(e)for the supply of newspapers, periodicals or magazines.0 -
What the law says is pasted below. IMO its open to interpretation because to me it reads as though if you order a magazine you cannot return it because you could have read it.
Thats not the same as ordering future versions of magazines, which is what a subscription is.
On the other hand you could argue the way it is worded catches both scenarios.
Unless the parties have agreed otherwise, the consumer will not have the right to cancel the contract by giving notice of cancellation pursuant to regulation 10 in respect of contracts:
for the supply of newspapers, periodicals or magazines;0 -
Tonight Brenda in the snug took £59 off me. The mags were wonderfull. I read the current issue of the economist, national geographic and private eye. Who should I sue with regard the beer stain on me tee shirt?0
