Need to buy a new home computer, want to run Adobe Dreamweaver CS / Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Microsoft Flightsimulator FSX
Quoted for a Dell T1500 Precision £1200
Spec:
One Intel® Core™ i7-870 (Quad Core, 2.93 GHz, 8MB Cache) 1 6GB DDR3 non-ECC Memory (1333MHz, 3x2GB) 1 1GB GDDR5 ATI FirePro V4800 - 2DP, 1DVI (1DP-DVI, 1DVI-VGA adapter) Graphics Card

Do you know if this is overload for my requirements?
What other models do you recommend?

    Check the recommended system specifications for the programs you want to use then look for a computer. Most programs should show minimum specs and recommended specs for the software.

    Here is what I found.

    Dreamweaver
    CS5 shows
    Windows
    • Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor
    • Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 (Service Pack 3 recommended); Windows Vista® Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise with Service Pack 1; or Windows 7
    • 512MB of RAM
    • 1GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on removable flash-based storage devices)
    • 1280x800 display with 16-bit video card
    • DVD-ROM drive
    Photoshop

    Windows
    • Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor
    • Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 3; Windows Vista® Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise with Service Pack 1 (Service Pack 2 recommended); or Windows 7

  • The processor is a bit overkill, you could get away with using a 4/6 core amd phenom 2 processor or the i5 or lower range i7s.

    Also if your windows is not 64 bit you could just stick to 4gb ram.
