All you need is a valid school address (.AC.UK) and you can purchase the discounted version (Students & Teachers).

I went for the 3 year as it works out at £23.31 a year (£10 off, the 1 year is £5 off).
Our school & local police were handing these out last year but mine expired
Think the stats were something like 3 out of 4 stolen laptops recovered :T
