  • I walk to the shops in the afternoons ( on my days off ) . Saves fuel , parking , also means I have to limit what I can carry back home . Luckily there are a couple of supermarkets , independants , plus a good market ( inc a stall that sells Approved foods same/similar goods ), so I can check the best deals .

bungle4by4 - do you really polish the cat ? !!! We find ours just needs a good brush every so often !!!!!!!!

well after reading this yesterday i went through the cupboards and freezer, did a menu plan and used my mobile to tot up the spend as i went this morning, thank goodness i did, rather than just throw in the usual everyday buys i paid attention to what i was buying (totally skint this month), i noticed the Tesco Gold coffee has gone up from £1.39 a couple of weeks ago to £1.99 this morning so downshifted (saving 64p)that and also the 2.5kg margarine i usually use for baking has gone up from £2.15ish just before christmas to £2.90 - rip off or what! bought "loose" salt in the plastic bag rather than the tub, got 250gr more for 4p less, stocked up on the value stock cubes at 10p a packet, bought mrt's value chocco crispies on 2 for 3 so got the 3 packs for £1.30 instead of the kellogs at aroung the £2 mark and got twice as much. kept away from the biscuits and all the other goodies so spent a whole £10.88 whereas before would have spent a good £20+ on very little!

    thanks guys
