savings spread? any ideas?

So we're currently saving for a house deposit and look set to achieve this by the end of the year-then the real hard work starts.

we plan on having 4-6 months saved as a emergency fund (i'e not to be touched)

however what percentage should we stick aside as general savings, as a pension etc each month.

any help would be gratefully received :).

Pension completely depends on what you want when you retire, what type of pension is available and what your employer pays into it.

General savings - again depends on if you have a car etc.

It's worthwhile just looking at what may cost you in the future - boiler breaks, car breaks etc. to cover these.
