North east animal charity - fosterers

Hi, I've adopted the last 3 of our bunnies from a local charity called pawz for thought. They are a very small charity based in the North East and rehome and foster abandoned animals. They have no dedicated shelter so volunteers take in a lot of the animals. This isn't ideal as they offen run out of room, but it means they get to see what the pets are like in a home environment and is much less stressful than kennels. Its just a small team of unpaid volunteers, and all monies raised goes to helping rehome and look after these animals. Eventually they hope to raise enough money for a dedicated centre, but that is a long way off.
Even if you are not wanting to adopt an animal - they're always looking for fosterers. It might be good for older or retired people who don't want to get a new pet incase age or a bout of illness creeps up on them unexpectedly. It can also be a good idea for families who dont want to commit to getting thier children a pet incase they "grow bored with it" but want them to have experience of looking after animals and find out what's involved in caring for them. OR for people who have recently lost a pet but are not ready to make that step of introducing a new pet so close to losing another.
They also have a charity shop which is happy to receive donations of good quality bric-a-brac they can sell on, or any donations of pet carriers, cages/hutches, blankets, toys, food etc.
Just thought i'd spread the word.........please check out their website....http://www.pawzforthought.org/ or their facebook page http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Pawz-for-thought/29860956909
