Small Business Current Account - Which one?

Are there any recommendations for a current bank account for a small business (Limited company) please?
About 20 transactions per month, fluctuating balance of around 10k (so some interest would be good!), cheque book, transfers, paying in cheques, no cash, no overdraft. With online management of the account.

Thanks!

I use Abbey Business Bank Account for day to day transactions and Abbey Business Reserve for short term deposits, and Alliance & Leicester Business Instant Reserve for longer term monies on deposit.

These are all free (subject to certain transaction limits) and aimed at Online management (one disadavantage is that everything is done on the phone or online - eg. you DON'T have access to the Abbey branch/counter service).

The application process for both Abbey and A&L was fairly straightforward, but the Abbey online system is far far simpler to use than A&L, which is way too convoluted. However, I only need access to A&L infrequently, so I'm happy to get a higher interest rate for a little more headache.

I've generally been happy with both Abbey and A&L although there has been the odd hiccup which was resolved fairly quickly.

    Hope this helps.

We used Abbey and they were great :)
  • Many thanks for the replies ... I'm going to take a look at the Abbey!
  • Another vote for Abbey here too .They also offer a reserve Account with a higher rate of interest than the current account. All online free banking .There's alot more info on their website.
