Trouble using IE

Hi, I changed my default web browser to firefox several months ago. Trying IE today, I cannot get anything using their browser, but I can use other browsers on the homepage which is yahoo. This post is on favourites on IE, on the yahoo homepage. Is this due to microsofts optional browser change. How can I use IE, and still keep firefox as my default browser.?

What do you mean by you can't get anything with IE? No websites load? Error message?

Try updating IE to the latest version. It should work regardless of it being the default or not. I have FF as default and IE8 works no problems.

Hi, Thanks for reply. It,s weird. All I get is cannot display this webpage. When I click on diagnose this fault, the reply suggest I re-type, as if I have made a typin error
No matter what I put in browser search, I get cannot display this page.yet I have avg search and yahoo search, both of them locate what I want, but not IE. It,s been a while since using it, as FF is my favourite, I exported or imported all IE favourites when setting FF up, no probs.all my favourites on IE come up on browser bar when clicked, but won,t respond to typing url in.any url

Hi, Tried downloadindIE8 again from Filehippo.Got so far and was told I had a more up to date version, so cannot proceed.I know I don,t have IE9, because I tried it and reverted back to 8.However. IE8 is responding now, so whatever Was at fault, seems to have rectified itself.Error 502 Bad gateway was coming up

Try and get any updates from the microsoft website rather than 3rd parties. '8' is only the major version, it also has a minor version such as 8.0.6 which increments as minor changes are made.
