High Street Instant Access Accounts?

I'm looking for the best deal for an 88 year old relative who doesn't use a computer. He needs to physically visit a bank, building society or post office. It's not easy finding info on the best Instant Access deals on the high street. He needs to save a sum in the tens of thousands. Suggestions anyone - accounts or sources of info?

Well, a Lloyds vantage current account or three might be something to consider. Requires some shuffling to qualify for the rate, but that can all be automated using standing orders. See other threads for details. Best rate is for balance of £5k to £7k, but even down to £3k it beats most other instant-access savings accounts.
Does all the money need to be on the high street, or is someone around from time to time to help him transfer between current account and somewhere less easily accessible ?0 -
