sparkengery anyone else use these?
We have just moved into our flat and our agent has moved us to sparkenegry. We are in prepayment meters
Just been looking at there tarriff which is the only place they mention prepayment and they charge £40 for a replacement meter card. Is that normal?
For their monthly tarriffs they mention £50 for meter installation, would that be offered to me, would the landlord need to be informed?
Anyone have experience of this company?

Spark are aimed at rental agencies and do not necessairly work out best for the tenant, they are not a stereotypical domestic provider a la BG, scot power etc, speak to you rental agency but can't see why they would not let you change supplier. Spark cust service from my few dealings with them is poor0

when I first moved in (last week) I have scottish power set up in my name at the same time spark energy where contacting me and I had no clue why then.0

Sounds to me like the letting agents are getting a backhander from Spark to sign you up, if you are paying the bills its down to you who you pay, would you let your letting agent tell you that you could only shop in Waitrose?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
I would never touch a provider that charges you £40 to replace a card. Even when BG charged it was only £8 now they have no charge. Check out the other suppliers and make sure you get a good deal for yourself.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

Well I am in the process of cancelling them, would this mean I'd have to sign up again with scottish power?
Whenever I move I sort out the utilities myself doesn't take long at all. The agent said they would do it but not till we'd moved in (not known till moving in day). Needed a new gas card to phoned scottish power (actually ended up being a meter fault) and got everything changed to my name, a new card was sent and I've just recieved the form to fill in and send back which I'm doing today.0 -
If the switch has not yet gone through and you cancel in time (or you claim an erroneous transfer) then you will go back to the previous supplier. You are, of course free to switch again
Otherwise all you can do is switch again ... and you have the choice who to switch to."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
