Hi

I have some shares that belonged to my late husband, dividends are still being paid into our joint bank account but the shares are still in his name.
I would like to keep them if possible and need to know how, or if, I can get them transferred to me or if I will I have to sell them?

thanks in advance
Pattyg

Look up the registrar of the companies in question (google "[name of company] registrar").

See if the registrar has a stock transfer form you can download and print (google [name of registrar] stock transfer form)

Write a letter to the registrar enclosing the share certificates, a stock transfer form completed by the executor and a copy of the grant of probate of your husband's estate.
  • Thank you Kohoutek,

    will do that now
