Some advice please...

Hi there all – I need some advice.

I need to spend around £10,000 over the next few months but would like to effectively pay this over a 12 month interest free period.

From some research that I’ve done through this website and others, I have concluded that getting a credit card with a 0% introductory rate such as the one offered by Tesco and paying this amount off over the 13 month 0% period is the best option. Further to this, if there is any unexpected balance remaining at the end of the 0% period, I plan to do a balance transfer to another 0% card.

A little more info on my personal and financial situation:

Current debt:
1 credit card with nil balance – Barclaycard with about £4k limit.
1 mortgage with about £220k o/s
Nothing else.

Personal situation:
Professional job
Live with family
Own a house that’s been let out (about £16k rental income)
Salary about £30k

Any other options that you guys could recommend?

Anything else I should think about?

Thanks to all in advance of the guidance.

  • That is best option, if you need longer barclays does a 17 month balance transfer. If you do apply for the 12 month one, circumstances do change you aren't guaranteed another 0% after your 0% runs out.
