When your pets have had anaesthetic, the vets usually want them to drink plenty to get the kidney working again.

I found the Buddy doesnt want water, so i make up a big pan of chicken broth for him. I only boil chicken bones, water, carrot and swede into a lovely broth, and he drinks that down with no problems at all.

What does your pets drink after anaesthetic?

Good topic, have no answers but as Zara is due to have Xrays done on the 28th (anaesthetic) - I will be looking in here for advice...
  • I would def recommend to to opt for your pet to have fluid therapy (a drip) throughout any anesthetic
this will helpprevent dehyrdration, support the organs, replace any fluid loss if having surgery. also there is instant access to a vein incase any urgernt medication would be required, as every second counts in an emergency situation
