Just calm down, unless you are being dismissed for gross misconduct which Im sure you would have remembered or have been there for under a year, they cannot just dismiss you just like that. So stop worrying
Give us some details and we may be able to help you.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
My friend got sacked for hitting a colleague, and managed to sign on easily enough.
I assume he just lied about the reason he was let go, an said that there wasn't enough work, or that his 'contract' had ran out or something.
Im sure you'll be OK0 -

Dont imagine for one minute that the DWP dont check up on why the man is no longer in employment. A form is ssent to the company to fill in as to why he no longer works there.
He may have been able to sign on but i bet you he was sanctioned.

Are you certain that they check?!
My friend signed on for about 2 months and then got a new job but i dont remember of any problems with his claim.
However, I was also economical with the truth on my application (about why I was no longer employed), and I was never sanctioned or had any issues at all and I was signing on for quite a long time ?
Just curious. It seems as if they don't actually check.0 -

You will not be penalised if you are dismissed, you can still make a claim to JSA.0 -
That's not guaranteed...Dismissal due to gross misconduct may be sanctioned. If OP needs money then the claim will be reduced to the hardship amount which is somewhat less than the standard rate of £65.45. If it were true and people really wanted out then rather than resign they'd go and and nick something from the employer..only joking I wouldn't do that because I know I'll be sanctioned. You will not be penalised if you are dismissed, you can still make a claim to JSA.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

A claim can still be made though, the employer will be contacted for further details.0 -

Yes, they do check. I know this because when a temp job I was doing a few years ago ended I had to sign on for awhile and my JSA payments were delayed as they had not heard from my last employer. They hadn't heard because he was off work with a back injury.0 -
When I worked at the Jobcentre, we wrote to the last employer in all cases to ask the reason that the employment ended (among other things). If the employer failed to reply, we sent 1 reminder, then just gave up with it. In those cases, no sanction was applied to a claim (any suspension of benefit was lifted).0

OK, that makes more sense. They must have been unable to contact my previous employer, because If I had have stated the real reason I no longer worker there, I was told by friends that I wouldn't get any JSA, so I made up something else, and never had any issues at all.0
