Jonny, nice to you again. Guess you don`t know anyone scared about job security? I am. Look around you. In my city there are so many shops closed. I wish I was as upbeat as you regarding the economy. Yes I do know about more struggling, a very dear relative who after 30 years of marriage, has had her husband go off with a younger model. That really hurts.
Also more fall out from the stupid Nu Labour regime. Hey but I guess in Jonny land everything is going well. If it is, then good `un on ya.
I can tell you lots of sad stories. I have friends who bought into the housing ponzi. Some paying mortgages of up to £1,400 a month, and just renting out rooms. At IRs @ 0.5% that repayment , to me, is loopy, on an average house in the South East.
To me, there is a long way to go before all of this is sorted out. Cheap credit was not a good idea and I for one, think it was a major contribution in house price rises. Have a look at Ireland. I have customers there. An ex council home bought at about 60k euro and reaching 350k in the boom. Cannot see the where that came from.
Might be wrong, but I think the UK stock market closed down lower than it did in a decade, and that is very unusual. Even in the depression of the 30s it regained its value by 1940. Maybe I am a miserable old git, but I find these times as uncharted waters.0
