Thank goodness for your sensible people. I am a floor manager at Debenhams and you would be amazed at the stuff people bring back .

I was 'once' a Debenhams customer. I returned a £55 of leather boots, owned for 2 weeks and and worn on about 4 occasions (the insoles became completely detatched exposing a paper inner).

A floor manager told me that the boots were not faulty and the problem was due to hot feet and that it happens to all shoes and boots (temps about -5 at the time)!!! I complained to Debenhams CS on 16th January and still await a response.

Some customers are genuine, but I'll shop elsewhere in future;)

Years back I found an old Xmas present, M&S jacket, in a bag that had never been opened.

Wasn't sure how old it was so took it back and was offered £1.

Stuck it on ebay and got £36.

Thank goodness for your sensible people. I am a floor manager at Debenhams and you would be amazed at the stuff people bring back and the length of time they have had them. Everyone claims to know their rights and keep saying 'trading standards' etc. I once had a lady bring back a toilet brush she had been using for 6 months and she felt it was not doing a good enough job. I have also had people bring back solied underwear claiming never to have worn them.

Either your wining up or you'd have to have balls to do that! Ridiculous but take my hat off to their barefaced cheek.

Have to say though I bought some shoes reduced in Next clearance after Xmas this year and the strap has snapped. Not sure whether to ake them back, not sure I've got the receipt poss in the depths of my handbag, anyone think I should give it a go ?
