Hi,
I'm a student and have an account currently with HSBC. I'm travelling to Hong Kong (3 days), Australia (3 months), New Zealand (1 month), LA (1 week).
I'm happy to just carry and use cash in Hong Kong and LA, but with Australia and New Zealand I'd like to open an account and just wondered if this was possible if I was continuously travelling?
Would it be best to do it when I'm out there or beforehand?
Thanks

You best off opening it before hand. Do you have a part time job? Could your parents supply you with a card as a secondary card holder as a precaution in case of emergencies? If so the Halifax clarity card gives a perfect exchange rate.0
