Advice needed please: a young girl ran into the back of me and her insurance company have accepted liability.
Whiplash with a recovery of 8 months
Lumber back Injury 8 months
I had a foot injury that the independent doctor who just rushed the diagnose as ankle sprain, he suggested 8 months
My solicitor has suggested compensation of £1800 to £2500
The problem is I really feel my ankle is more than just a sprain, my GP suggested Plantor faciitus and my physio suggested it could be nerve damage!
What can I do?0 -
Hi
I was involved in an accident on the M6 just before Xmas a guy ran into the back of me in the fast lane, and from trying to swerve to avoid me he hit me in the rear corner, span my car and I went flying diagonally across the middle and inner lane.
I have a company car and they don't deal with personal injury so advised me to go through his insurer. Which I did, they sent me through a medical which the guy wasnt really interested in my injuries and really wanted me to answer yes or no! Then they came back with a offer of £2200.
My injurys are whiplash, upper back pain, bruised hip after accident and reaccuring pain in it, night terrors, fear of driving on the motorway and when I do I will no longer drive in lane 3, nervousness when driving in gereral especially when someone is close behind me. (one thing I didn't say on the medical as the GP didnt give me an opportunity to was that it ruined my social life over Christmas I had to cancel all my work dos ad the pain killers were strong that I was taking so I couldn't drink)
In the letter it said I could seek legal advise so I phoned a local injury solicitor who took all the details of the accident and said their offer seemed light!
I just wanted some advice, should I take the money, or get this personal injury solicitors to represent me? Would their be any consequences to the firm representing me? I'm nervous I would have fees to pay although they have assured me not. They want to send me for another medical, but I just keep thinking there will be a catch!0 -
Trust them!
You definitely ought to have your own legal rep dealing with this, to "trust" the responsible insurer to have your best interests at the forefront is naive.0
