Vodafone and Content Control

I'm between getting rid of Virgin and getting BT. I purchased a Vodafone dongle from Argos and had no problem setting it up, until I got to Facebook messaging. Then I discovered something called "Content Control" which is shipped as standard. I logged in as I wanted to get rid of Content Control, but it said "Current request not available" I tried all ways as suggested on their website to no avail. Yet when I went to ask for a top up it nearly grabbed my arm and pulled me into the computer. I think if you are spending money, then Vodafone works but if you want another service it doesn't. Apparently I have to go to the nearest Vodafone shop to have this done for me. So, buy from the shop, ask them to remove Content Control, never buy from any other source as I did, it'll cost you in the end. Rant over :-)

I don't know if the procedure is different for dongles but I've just logged-in to the Vodafone site and removed the content control for my PAYG phone. They charged £1 to my credit card to verify I'm over 18 but gave me £2.50 credit in return.

    Hi Bollotom,

I am sorry to hear you are having some troubles getting the Content Control bar lifted.

As AHAR mentioned, if you log into My Account then you should be able to remove it by using a credit card.

If you go to My Device and then Settings. This will take you to the My Settings page - Content Control will be at the bottom of that page. You can switch your settings there by clicking Change.

If you are still having problems getting this sorted out then feel free to drop us an email here with WRT135 in the subject and we can arrange this to be done for you.

    Best wishes,
