London Transport

Hi,
My invalid son is being caused a lot of stress by London Transport.

In the last few weeks he has recieved letters addressed to someone unknown to him regarding traveling without a ticket, he sent the letters back with a covering letter saying this person does not live at this address, he also phoned them and was told not to worry about it and they would put a stop on it.

Today he recieved a letter again addressed to this other person so he opened this one and it was a cout order saying the bailiff was coming to collect the £292 10p it also gives a discription of the person that is nothing like my son, it also say's he has a lot of tattoos on his hands and my son does not.

As my son is very ill with Primory Progresive MS, has a free travel pass and only travels with his carer I find it laughable, but it is causing him a lot of stress which is very bad for his condition, twice they have told him to ignore it and still they write and send court papers.

I am going to phone them in the morning but does anyone know who to ring higher up and not just the office girl.

You have put 'London Transport' which has not been in existance for some time. Which department has sent the demand / notice? They will normally come from either Surface Transport or Underground Enforcement?

They are different teams in different buildings and although use the same IT system the databases are different!, but let me know and I will find out for you.

But the simple explaination is that someone has given his address.
These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!

I think I'd try to speak to someone at the court that the summons was issued from.

Good luck, I hope it gets sorted out.

if your son doesnt fit the description then he is in the clear

That may be true - but, as the OP states, it is more about the distress it is causing her son.

They have contacted them and were told to ignore the letters and that they would stop. Obviously this isn't the case and they keep coming.

Yes, if the bailifs turn up at the door then they will realise very quickly that they have the wrong person - but how much extra distress is this going to cause in itself. Bailiffs knocking at anyones door is stressful enough, never mind that they are disabled.

OP - I hope this gets sorted before it goes that far. :T

If the letters are addressed to her son, that's one thing. If they're addressed to someone else at that address, he shouldn't even be opening them - just send them back addressee unknown.

Your allowed to open anything that goes to your house.

OP you need to find out where and when these offences occurred from TFL and then address them that way round. TFL are very bad at listening but if you fail on that end then get in touch with

if you feel they are not addressing the problem you have but try passenger focus beforehand also
