ppi on a overdraft help please

can any1 help, boyfriend has been payin ppi on a overdraft. he has been payin it since 1999. he was made redundant in 2009, and the bank were aware of this. he didn't know wat this payment was for until i looked at it. since then we have writen many letter, and now have had phone contact. the bank says it was down to him to actvate this and are offering him a goodwill of £100.00 should he take this offer or go to the fos. thanks please help.

Was this the final decision?
If not then you could ask them to reconsider.

If they have confirmed its the final decision and enclosed details/leaflet of the FOS, and your not happy with the outcome you can take it to the FOS.

Hi there, do as di says, if you get no joy then go to fos. Had your boyfriend known that he had ppi then he would have claimed on it, this is your argument for the bank and fos, by not claiming this he could not have known he had it.Just for my information, how did he get ppi with a overdraft?.

I suspect we will never know. The OP has been back today but failed to answer this rather intriguing question you posed :cool:

What I would suggest to anyone who has spent the last 12 years in constant overdraft is that they should either speak with their bank as an overdraft is not designed for such long term lending and so probably costs a fortune (the bank sjould be able to offer a better product more suited to such borrowing requirements), and/or take a visit to the DFW board

Hi premier, the only way, as i see it, is if the overdraft was turned into a loan?.
