Do I have to pay dentist

Please can someone tell me if I have to pay for the dentist if I am on Job Seekers Allowance?

  • Only means tested benefit qualifies you for free dental treatment. So if the JSA is income based then yes.
  • I think its contribution based. I havent had a payment yet I am still in the pipeline. I was made redundant after 30 years with the same company

    Not free with CB based i'm afraid. If you can find an NHS Dentist then it'll be at a set rate which might help.

    Given that countless people retire with no savings, I don't see what is so unbelievable in the OP's situation? Some people are not as good at planning ahead as others.

    I think the poster meant because of the redundancy pay out you get for 30 years of service rather than becuase the OP hadn't posted.

    You can fill out a HC something form that assesses your income and means you may get money towards or covering healthcare including dentistry, prescriptions and wigs even if you're on CB JSA. You can get them from your Drs or Pharmacy.
