O2 Line Rental

I currently have O2 Broadband but have my line rental with Sky which is £11.25 per month. I just wondered if I could change my line rental to O2 which according to their website is only £7.66 a month which would save me £43.08 over 12 months! Does anyone know if I could do this and how please?

  • I've been looking into the same thing, we have BT for line rental but only have the line for broadband, use mobiles for calls. I read somewhere that there might be a switching fee to change your line rental so that's worth considering. Did you get the email about fee increases for o2 broadband? I called them and signed up for a 12 month contract renewal and they gave me a bit of a discount for the next year.
  • Hi,Ive just done it going from BT and it was easy.
1.Find out your sky line rental contract end date from the website.
    2. close to this date(2 weeks should be enough) contact o2 on 0800 954 1367,tell them what you want and they'll do the rest. BTW If you're an o2 mobile customer you
get £5 off your monthly bill,it doesn't have to be a contract phone either.I put £10 onto a payg phone every 3 months(and they remind you to do it to benefit from the £5).Just tell them your o2 payg number.Really easy!

In your first sentence, you say you were 'going from BT' - so I don't understand the reference to Sky in your next sentence.

Can you explain that part please.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Hi, yes I got the email so I rang O2 and complained about the price increase and they gave me a discount of £2.50 per month for a 12 month contract.
