An endemic problem with Tesco Direct orders for store pick up?

Over the past month I've ordered 3 items through Tesco Direct to the Watford store. So far, I've received 1.
The first item, a Nokia phone, never got past 'dispatched to store' on my account. 2 days of wrangling between the store and Direct CS ended up with a refund and a declaration that the item had got lost.
Last Friday I ordered an Xbox and a DSi as part of the 20% off gaming deal. They both should have been in-store by Monday.
The Xbox was there for pick-up, the DSi wasn't.
I was advised to wait until Tuesday to see if the DSi arrived, which it didn't. Tesco have now cancelled and refunded the original order and re-ordered it. I now wait to see if it'll arrive on Thursday.
There must be something seriously lacking in Tesco's tracking from warehouse to store and there must be someone out there making some serious money on these lost items.
When the phone went missing I had a discussion with the woman on the Direct desk. She said that Tesco had changed the packaging on phones due to the large amount of items going missing, but I guess this isn't working.
Has anyone else had problems getting their items from Tesco Direct through the stores?

The only problem I have is the time involved in collection! Our Tesco Direct desk is also the Electricals desk, so invariably I am waiting behind someone wanting to purchase a television ... There's only one member of staff ... Then s/he has to lock up the till/computer, walk across the store to the warehouse to find the item, bring it, unlock the till/computer to check the item off (why aren't they barcoded?) ...:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
MSE: many of the benefits of a helpful family, without disadvantages like having to compete for the tv remote

Direct desk in Watford is next to the ciggy counter and the stuff is in a room behind the counter. When the order actually gets to the store, there's not long to wait.Dave. :wave:0 -

Edited for clarity? :rotfl:“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0
