strange email

just recieved an email from someone called elizabeth ( i dont know any elizabeth's) all it says is:-

Have you forgotten me?

should i reply and say i have no idea who you are or is it likely to be a virus or one of those things where they can hack in or something dodgey like that??

    You should never open e-mails from recipients that you don't know!

    hows that monty pyton song go spam spam spam spam.................get loads of these from different peeps - as others say do no open just bin it .

    It's not the text, it's the trojan hidden in it you need to worry about. Once you've opened the email (and in some cases just dowloaded it, I believe) you are infected.

    1 Do an antivirus run
    2 Run antispyware
    3 Use a product which checks the email on the server first and allows you to delete it without downloading.

    I use Mailwasher and swear by it. http://www.mailwasher.net/ Free download and, I think, free for 1 account. Have to upgrade for multiple accounts (but then you can set rules to forward emails on receipt and only check the forwarded address).

    You can mark senders as Blacklist and set it to permanently delete without checking with you.

    I set mine to bounce then delete any that I don't want.
