DLA appeals

hi im just wondering if someone out there can help me at all ...
last feb i got diagnosed with a myloprofilerative disorder ( commonly known as a rare form of bone marrow cancer) i also have chronic pancreatitis, i applied for DLA un may of 2010 and have just gone through the appeals process which i hasten to add i was refused yet again... what the hell do i have to do to get some help from these people....we submitted written statements from the CAB, my doctor x 2 letters, they had an oral hearing where i was grilled about my day to day life .... im on chemotherapy, i cant eat a meal so am on a liquid diet, i have to have help frm my children, incase of falling and yet i still got refused... can someone help me with where i go from here ....any help would be appreciated cheers

How ill you are is of no relevance neither is the treatment you undergo. Being on a liquid diet is also of little relevance. What is of importance is what extra help you need above a normal person. If you can make a meal, that counts against you. If you can go to the toilet or wash yourself, that counts against you. Think long and hard about what you can't do normally as anyone else would.0

Ask your Macmillan nurse about this Neigh. Mine has encouraged me to apply for DLA under the "special rules" as my cancer is at stage 4 (though I fully intend to live way longer than the scary 6 months that the special rules suggests!!). Anyway, the Macmillan nurses are very helpful and knowledgeable regarding this stuff.0
