Lifestyle Group Insurance Issue

I need some advice please.

As I have a Silver account with Lloyds I was transferred to Lifestyle Group as they assumed it was one of theirs as there is an amount of £4.99 being taken out of my bank each month and it shouldn’t be as I am on a policy with Lloyds for a different amount.
I spoke to a very helpful lady, she told me to email over screen dumps of the bank statements showing the DD's being taken out. I then received an email from her colleague stating the following:
After your recent telephone conversation with *****, she has passed over your bank statements regarding the payments taken for an additional policy after this has been cancelled.

I have looked into your policy and there was nothing in the transactions part of this recorded after the additional policy was cancelled. I have however investigated further and discovered that you do still have an active additional policy on your Barclays Current Account Plus and this is where the payments have been coming from. We do provide insurance for Barclays as well as LloydsTSB.

As this not my department, I would recommend that you contact the Barclays Customer Services line on **** *** **** and a member of this department will be able to aid you further in this matter.

I called the number provided and spoke to an abrupt man, and found that there was still an existing policy on my phone when I had an account with Barclays. Barclays Account was closed back in August, I also called Lifestyle Group to cancel the policy. I advised of the issue and that I had called Lifestyle Group and was told there was nothing I could do and wouldn’t be reimbursed the charges until I provide a call log showing I called to cancel this policy. To be honest with you I am 100%” that I did call in, however I cannot remember exactly where I called from, work, home, mobile!
Why would I let the policy run when I had a new policy set up through my new account. Which is also through Lifestyle Group.

So basically I have had an active policy with both Barclays and Lloyds for some time, to which they can see. They won’t reimburse me and I don’t know what to do.
Any advice will be gratefully received.
Thanks

Karlie
