funkypigeon.com - poor service

Ordered my wife a card as for the first time I wasn't going to be home for valentines. Could have left a card on the table when I left, but knowing she'd be around when the postman delivered I thought it'd be a nice suprise.

No such luck, got a dispatch notice at 3:30am on the 14th so I assume it's still in the post system (ordered on the 11th as per the advert 'order before 2pm on the 11th and it'll be there by the 14th)

Can only assume they were overwhelmed.

15th still hasn't arrived. Emailed funkypigeon, only got an offer to resend the card (no refund) and told it was dispatched on the 11th and it's royal mails fault. Could give them the benefit of the doubt, but why send a dispatch notice at 3:30am on the 14th?

Certainly won't be using them again - if I had a new customer I wanted to keep (hopefully one of the minority to complain) I would either be offering a refund or be dispatching something else (like a rose etc) or at the bearest minimum a full apology and a discount off your next order...

How can FunkyPidgeon be liable for poor service provided by Royal Mail, if the card was sent by 1st class then it is 1-3 WORKING DAYS, so there is a chance that if it was sent off on Friday that it wouldn't arrive on Monday, if you really did want it guaranteed you should have paid the difference for Special Delivery!

Hopefully the card has arrived by now, otherwise they should refund you, but I wouldn't say its FunkyPidgeon's fault if the card wasn't delivered on time as they don't have control over delivery times do they ;)
