Ok, from what i can find out is that with toshiba laptops, if they are shipped with Win 7 then thier supports doesnt have the XP drivers, so you are going to have to use a programme to find out what is needed and what needs updating,

Hopefully someone will come along and suggest a free one to use as i dont really know which ones are good,

  • Windows 7 is much better than XP, plus MS still support Win 7 whereas XP is not going to be supported soon.

  • How long have you had the laptop? Took me a few weeks to get used to Windows 7 after XP, but now I love it. Might be worth giving it some time!

  • You could probably get the drivers from the manufacturers website eg if its an intel wireless card look on the intel site. Same with chipset, vga etc.

Id suggest you stay with 7 for a while atleast while you get used to the interface. For home use windows 7 is amazing (especially for non tech people)

I fix a lot of laptops for our staff (infact i spend more time fixing laptops than administering the domain) and i always put Win7 on if possible and have never had anyone come back and say put XP back
