Ideas for fancy dress costume

We are having a party next month and I stupidly decided upon a 70s fancy dress theme. Beginning to wish I hadn't - seemed like a good idea at the time.
I dont want to have to hire a costume as I will be hiring one for my husband (its his suprise 40th!) - can anyone help me come up with an 'easy' costume - preferably something that can be picked up easily in a charity shop, requires no sewing and wont look as if I've made absolutely no effort!!
It also needs to be able to go in to a suitcase as the party is in Ireland!
I would prefer not to wear anything short - have eaten rather too many pies over the years  !!
So far I've come up with Nana Mouskiri (sp?) - I think she just work a large smock and big glasses?
Any ideas?

The seventies went from The Bay City rollers to Platform shoes and Gary Glitter to ABBA and the film Staurday Night Fever, through to punk. You have a great range of styles to choose from.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

You'll probably get more replies on the Old Style board if you ask for it to be moved there. You should be able to pick up a long evening dress from a charity shop (especially this time of year) - long wig and square glasses, and you've got Nana sorted (name is Mouskouri).0
