    I love this forum because:

I have just been reading another forum and was horrified at some of the comments made by some members. The were mean and judgemental of each other and were going totally off topic. One member even suggested that the problem with the benefits system is all us singles parents and the fact that we made the mistake of pro-creating with losers!! (No-one chooses to be a single parent and they dont start out as losers!!):(

I am so grateful to the DFW forum. It amazes me that people who have never met, and probably never will, take the time to read each persons post and provide constructive advise and support in a non-judgemental and genuine fashion. And continue to encourage each other to meet their objectives no matter what mistakes and choices they have made in the past.

    Hi all

I just thought I'd give you all a quick up date on the situation.

Wrote letters to C**pWest and Power 2 Contact and made a complaint to the OFT.

Power 2 Contact came back with 'we never said we were from C**pWest and we are closing the account so you'll never hear from us again' :p

1st response from C**pWest 'we are looking into it'

OFT 'We are looking into the complaint and will see if there are other complaints against Power 2 Contact' :D

2nd response from bank 'we are sorry for the situation, we can see you have been trying to pay therefore as a good will gesture we will credit your account back to nil and close it' :j:j:T:T:j:j

I have checked acount and they have done as promised. Other half nearly fell over when I showed him the letter :rotfl:.

    Hi Jos1972

Thats great news and a good result for you. Well done on being assertive and putting these companies back under the rocks they crawled from.

The have backed down because they know you are aware of your rights, and they also know that they have completely overstepped the mark regarding theirs.

Unfortunately the will go after 'easier prey' who don't understand their rights and have not had the good fortune of coming across forums like this.

Thanks for the update though as it clearly shows that being aware of things like OFT guidelines and standing your ground gives you something to push back with.

    Well done again!!
