Travelodge Warning

I recently had a booking with Travelodge for 4 nights (booked via their new website). On the day of arrival, before midday, I had to alter the booking to 2 nights as I had to goto the GP. The website said the booking had been updated and a refund for the nights would be in my bank within 5-10 working days.

Upon arriving at the Travelodge they were unable to find my booking and said that I should have checked-in 2 days prior (the original booking date). Fortunately the room was still available and I was able to stay the 2 nights I had anticipated. They also advised contacting customer services to verify that the amendment had taken effect and that the refund would occur.

3 weeks later, 3 messages to customer services, no response (apart from the automated 'we have received your query') and no refund.
