How to Solve a Santander Problem

Hi Everyone

I have recently experienced Santander's poor customer service everyday for 4 weeks!

My account was totally blocked after being victim of an online fraud scam and was being passed from pillar to post, getting absolutely nowhere.

If you have an issue with Santander and would like it to be sorted quickly, email their CEO with your complaint - ceo@santander.co.uk

I did this and was contacted by their Executive Complaints department the same day, then the problem was resolved within 2 working days.

Although Santander has been voted worst for customer service, the department I dealt with at the end of my complaint were extremely helpful!

4 weeks on and no I can finally use my account, will spend today paying outstanding bills from the last month, then

  • Another good way is to shift your accounts to another bank.

If your account was with "First Direct" or "Co-op Bank" then you would not have poor customer service anyway!

Good tip. Many people are forced to bank with Santander due to takeovers; it isn't always choice!

Takeovers are never unannounced. I have an RBS account to be taken over by these jokers sometime soon, however I've already moved it elsewhere (a Scottish branch of RBS).

Not worth the hassle of all the direct debits going wrong during the transfer!

  • So do them manually.

I only didn't move earlier because A) I was naive and B) I was lazy.

Quite, my mother is moving from RBS, who have super customer service to First Direct, who have sublime customer service, well in advance of the takeover.

And earning a hundred pounds + 15 months interest free on her RBS card balances for the privilege :o
