SMS / text with your house phone

Hi just bought a new phone and it can send/receive SMS from mobiles. I know you can send a text to a house phone anyway, but with this phone you are supposed to be able to do it like you do with mobiles and store them on the phone etc.

I see a few house phones can do this now but how does it work with costs?

It says you have to tell your phone provider, BT etc to activate the service, but does that cost anything and what are the cost involved with sending and receiving texts?

Knowing BT it will cost, but anyone got it and using it, that can tell me more, good or bad etc.

Any info appreciated
