Which laptop would you choose?

From a previous thread ....

Looking at the dell inspiron 15R (i-3 version) for £499 off the dell website or the acer aspire 5742 from amazon for £399.
Any ideas which you would buy?

Definitely need the laptop for editing dvd footage and burning dvd's whilst having other stuff running.
Other than that it is the normal word processing and internet tasks that it would be needed for.

thanks!:)

The Dell is a bit better in every department and has a separate graphics card (albeit just above entry level). Both should do everything you want but the Dell will do it slightly faster. Is it worth the extra £100 - only you can decide. Personally I'd go for the Dell.

If I decided to go for the Acer I would probably save myself another hundred quid and go for this one
