Yes, the tax man paid my company on 7th February. Why, do you have a problem?0

We bought a TV on 27th December and I filled the form in. Had a reply a few weeks ago saying our claim wasn't valid as the offer was only for purchases prior to 24th December. The form did say this in the small print, so I should have checked. But I am grumpy with Currys because they still advertised the offer in-store 3 days after it expired!
But yes, our form was processed at least...0 -
I got mine about a week ago - took about 3 weeks from when I posted it in to hit my bank account.0

Today is the 4th time I have contacted SONY reference VAT repayment. Its the 4th time since October they have told me the bacs is generated and being sent out to the bank ( note BEING not SENT), I said what is the transfer number so I can track it, sorry cannot tell you!
I asked when they would send it? if its all ready to go, we have to wait first as we have to send you a letter with all your documents in to verify the transaction?
The time I called them ( last Monday 21st Feb) they told me money was transfered on 18th Feb to the bank. they are liars and making millions on the VAT of thousands of people who's money is laid in their bank. can no one from the govenment step in and do something.
Maybe they are too busy collecting their housing benifits from parliment0 -
I had a feeling this sort of thing would happen, and it looks like I was right.
I've heard my colleagues have quite a few angry customers moaning at us about Sony not paying the VAT on time, but luckily I've not had anyone moan at me yet.
The difficult thing is knowing what to do about it. The customer bought it from us, expecting that sony would pay the VAT back (and we expected them to, too). However, it's something Sony was promoting, rather than us directly.
I wonder what the legal position is. Is sony liable, or the store who sold the TV? If sony subsequently pays the VAT back after the shop compensates them, is the customer legally supposed to pay the sum back to the shop?
It all gets very confusing. I was doubtful sony would do it properly anyway, and whenever customers asked me about the offer, I just said, "It's something Sony is doing, and they say they'll pay it out in 28 days, but I have my doubts considering how popular the offer is. If you want to use the offer, go ahead, but it'll probably take a lot longer than you think."0 -
