done something stupid - will it affect my credit rating?

I had an account with an agreed overdraft limit and was within that limit with Barclays. I haven't been paying money into it regularly (but making a few lump payments every now and again) as I moved my wages to a joint account with my husband with a different bank about 6 years.
I had direct debits coming out and lazily didn't sort switching them over to my main account (this is the something stupid!) which is why I had to make the occasional lump payment but was always well within the overdraft limit.
Anyway, I just opened a letter saying that my account was over and they'd cancelled my overdraft on the 26th Jan
I've paid it off in full today - apparently they sent me a letter when they cancelled it but I missed it (stupid thing number 2).
So will this affect my credit rating? Currently applying for mortgages and worried this will mess everything up

Is it worth checking them now? Thought it might be too early to show up. I'll go and do that now.Anna :beer:0

I wouldn't of thought that any info regarding this will be updated on your credit file yet - although I could end up eating my words :j
At the end of the day - the account will be as settled/satisfied so shouldn't affect your credit file or your ability to gain a mortgage.Who are you to judge the life I live? the mortgage compnay will see what's on your credit reports
unfortunately if they show that you were on an 'arrangement to pay' or equivlalent this will have an adverse effect on your credit worthiness0 -
Just checked my credit file on Experian and everything is hunky dory *phew*.
I'm not under an arrangement to pay, I have paid for it all with cash.
Feb isn't showing up yet (although it says that the account was updated on 7/2/11) so I am hoping that as I have now paid it all it shouldn't show.
Thanks everyone :TAnna :beer:0
