Desktop shortcut missing!

This sounds really dumb, but the shortcut to the desktop that should be in the toolbar on my XP pc isn't there and its really annoying.
Any idea how to get it there? It hasn't been there since we had the pc from new.

you need to right click on the taskbar and in the toolbars option make sure that 'quick launch' toolbar is ticked.I like to save the money...0
