Edf energy welcome bonus
I switched to edf energys online saver 7 with £100 welcome bonus, joined them in december and recieved welcome bonus pretty much straight away.. I then moved to another supplier and had the welcome bonus taken off me. I phoned edf and was advised i was not entitled to the welcome bonus as i had not stayed for the full duration of th tariff. As well as removing th welcome bonus they also charged me the early termination fees as expected as is in th t's & c's.
So if you joined jst to get th bonus then leave, no point as theyare removing the bonus from customers who do this.

Strange. Why would you leave when EDf were still the cheapest supplier?
There are numerous threads on the Welcome Bonus. Do a search of the Forum.

If you left before the Winter Price Guarantee was over,I can understand their policy. I can't understand why you would be switching at that time.0 -
i tohught i read here someone said that EDF told them if they left early then they wouldnt take the £100 bonus back !!!
Just charge the £60 penalty for duel fuels as per t&c !!0 -
Look at the thread mentioned in my post above. They did concede that customers would keep the bonus unless they left before the price freeze ended.0

I didn't keep a copy of the T&C for the offer but if I recall, they said you had to remain a customer for 3(?) months to qualify for the £100.
I think what EDF than clarified to Backfoot was that if someone had met this condition and then left before the end of December, they wouldn't then lose the bonus.
I suspect joining them, seeing the bonus appear on the bill and immediately leaving = "potential abuse of our special offer" in EDF's eyes - and I can't say I blame them..

No sunil, not quite right. I got them to concede that they wouldn't reclaim after the end of the Price Freeze. They still wanted to prevent the very quick in and out.
As you say, that is very reasonable.0
