??? Bus Lane Camera - Chapel St, Liverpool

Hi,

I had to go to liverpool this morning for work and got totally wound up with being lost in the city centre and ended up driving on a bus lane! I am totally at fault and don't dispute this at all!

What are the chances of me getting a fine? I have had a look on the Liverpool City Council site and can only find details of three areas with CCTV for the bus lanes and Chapel Street is not on this list.

Thanks
Sarah

Hopefully you will be OK, not all bus lanes have cameras all the way along and if you were only straying into it for a few metres and get a ticket then you can appeal anyway.

If you do get a ticket through the post, keep the envelope, and go to pepipoo.com. Liverpool's CCTV PCNs are notoriously flawed. They were known to regularly post them out days after the service date shown on the PCN. There were other flaws, too.

You may have been lucky Castle street was intended to have them but major road works there seem to have held them up. Besides as Sarah said when they CCTV'd Lime Street bus lane, they ended up having to refund £1000s as they got the signs wrong!!

I am going down there later I will double check there not running!;)

bleeeping bleep bleeps " as a gesture of goodwill" my ar*e ..because you knew you would lose more like !! (Why can public bodies never admit it when they screw up ?)
  • Thanks for all the replies, will wait and see if a ticket arrives.

I have been driving for 11 years and have to say that I found the signs so confusing and as the road was grey with only the occasional red patch it wasn't very clear. I was also in a position that there was no where to turn round safely so my only option was to carry on.
  • Just seen this thread again and thought I would update to say that I never received a ticket :)

Me too, happened to me and my teenage son last year when visiting Nottingham then Birmingham University open days which were a day apart. After the first open day we happily zoomed to Brum where we promptly got lost in the city for over two hours in the dark and the rain.

We had a route planner but they had closed a vital road in Brum city centre, sign were confusing and locals' 'helpful directions' to our hotel were no help. Had to resort to phoning my OH back in our lovely town and he talked us through a new route over the phone. No satnav of course!

Hated what we saw of the city, and DS didn't even choose either of the Universities! :(
