Mattress: No refund if packaging opened?

No the shop offers a display model to use. They wouldn't allow a new item to be used for that purpose.
The reason online retailers insist mattresses can't be returned when opened is because nobody wants to buy a mattress that has been used.
Too bad that the DSRs dont link hygiene reasons or the ability to resell the item as new with the consumers cancellation right. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

I have seen on the net talk about mattresses being hypoallergenic, Does anyone know what this really means?
I suffer from asthma and want to know what this is and how it can help sufferers.
For example could I find a memory foam or latex foam mattress being hypoallergenic, or does this kind of mattress only apply to cetain fabrics???
Thanks
Don't think any exist on here any more.
They have either been PPR'd ( banned) or they have taken so much abuse from other posters, that they have stopped posting on here.
I do feel that the DSR and SOGA regs need clarifying/updating on things like beds etc. Something that you can physically try out and can get soiled by you using it, then able to send it back for a refund, is unfair on other consumers, as they may end up with a ' 2nd hand ' product, or most likely be thrown out by the retailer as now unsaleable. It is not fair on the business or the planet.
Why anyone would buy something so personal online, when all reviews and forums, show the pitfalls of doing so makes my brain frazzle !0 -

DSRs were already pretty clear, but they have been clarified and will be amended in November or December this year - since companies keep claiming things like items being "exempt" from DSRs on "hygiene reasons". 14 days is going to be the new magic number. 14 days to (if i recall correctly) notify of your intent to cancel, 14 days to send the goods back and 14 days for the retailer to refund you.You keep using that word.
