Soup is cheap enough to make.. We have it at least once aweek as a main meal with crusty bread.. We vary between leek and tattie, lentil, Tomato and balsamic vinegar, cauliflower and smoked cheese or spicy veg depending on what veg is ready at the allotment or in the garden or the greengrocer has.

Heinz soups are 2 for £1 in my local Poundland/world (can't remember which!), inlcuding Cream of Tomato. I think maybe they're slightly smaller cans than standard (300g), but still enough for me.:)

Sainsbury own Brand Extra Thick Veg soup was 30p or sometimes 3 for a £1 a couple of years ago.

They moved it up into their move expensive Chunky label own brand and now it's 74p

I wrote and complained at the time and was told that customers had requested it !

Used to love that soup, meal own it's own (with 2 slices of bread)

I have to say Sainsburies chunky soups are nice. I do try and make my own when possible but its nice to have a couple of tins for a change and when I can't be bothered to make any. I'll definitely have a look in home bargains etc though as I love baxters soup particularly their deli ones.

Aldi every time. Their wild mushroom is as good as anything Baxters make and about 59p a can.

What this fella said- and add to that the chicken and asparagus soup. Very nice, chunky chicken, and can be used as a sauce for pasta.
