Realistic %off Used car sale when paying cash

Unfortunately I 'wrote off' my car last week, been very busy online and visiting car sales places today- only found out yesterday it was a 'right off' fortunately I fine but my question as i haven't bought a car in 7 years

On a good day, what percentage can I hope for off a second hand car, eg a fiesta, when paying cash

    Not a lot really.

The trouble is a trader/larger car retailer will make commission out of selling you finance so by paying cash they actually make less from you!

Best to do research on pricing and fix a realistic budget then haggle from there using any faults/marks as leverage.

    5t.

Not a lot the garages want you to buy on their finance so they get the backhanders.

Shop around for the best price for the car you want online - use the likes of autotrader. Be prepared to travel for the right car.

Negotiate from there. I'd rather have £500 off an £8K car, rather than £2K off a £10K one - and YES there is likely to be that much variance.

As above - a car is only worth what it's worth regardless of the screen price, some price aggressively and don't negotiate, some price high and do.
