NPower Homecare Complaint

Hi, just after some advice please.
I had an NPower Gas Engineer visit my property to inspect and service my boiler.

The boiler was working fine before he attended.

The day after the service, my boiler broke down, the Homecare advisor told me I would have to wait 5 days for an engineer to attend. This was the week where the temperatures were -5.

So I called another engineer to come and look at the boiler, he had to cap off the gas to my house, due to the fact the there was a gas leak on the boiler. We were in immediate danger.

I wrote to NPower, explaining what had happened, and advised that they would be paying the bill from the engineer, as negligence was the key.

They have come back to me offering to pay the bill, and send a bouquet of flowers by way of an apology. Is this fair, I have cut the story short, so is this sufficient for the danger they put my family in ??
